Ryan Wojton’s March Feature Menu

Hi! I’m Ryan and I’ve worked for Madcap for three-ish years. That’s 21 in dog years. So, I’ve been here a while, no matter what species you are. I love to travel and before working with Madcap, I lived abroad and traveled fairly extensively. The ideas for my drinks came from that love of travel. I want to bring a global perspective to my Friday Drink Series. I decided to bring together some drinks based on cultures and flavors that I have experienced and really enjoyed. My three drink experiences cover Central America, Southeast Asia, and Western Europe.
First up, we have a house made horchata latte taking its roots from Guatemala and Mexico. Next, we have a Vietnamese style beverage with sweetened condensed milk, espresso, fresh ginger, lime and Vietnamese cinnamon. Lastly, I’m doing a play on a “one and one” by serving a shot of our espresso and a Berliner pastry on the side. A Berliner is a German donut that is typically filled with a fruit jelly and coated in cinnamon and sugar. If you don’t try all three of these, you are missing out on a one way ticket to Flavortown.
Now, enough about coffee and onto more about the person behind it. My favorite album to listen to over the past couple of months has to be Purpose, by the one and only Justin Bieber. I would never have considered myself a “belieber” before, but this album has challenged that. Maybe in a year I will regret this being my answer. In that case, just act like I said Pusha T: Darkest Before Dawn. And if that doesn’t sound good either, then how about Maranatha: Filth.
When I’m not making coffee, I like to hang out with my wife, two boys, and English Shepherd. I like cats and dogs, and I don’t trust people who only like one or the other. It’s like saying you only like beef but not pork. Why do you have to choose sides? If you are a vegetarian, substitute “beef” for “broccoli” and “pork” for “cauliflower.”
There are probably many things that you don’t know about me, but one thing I know for sure that you don’t know about me is that when I was 13, I fell off of my deck and broke my arm on New Year’s Eve. In case you are wondering, that’s a bad way to start a new year. And to end an old one.
I’m really looking forward to being a part of Madcap as we continue to grow and improve on the already amazing systems that we have in place. Well, that’s it for now. Thanks for taking the time to read this, and make sure you stop in on a Friday in March to try a taste of the world. Better yet, try all three for the “around the world” experience!
