An El Salvador single origin of elephantine proportions and flavor
About a decade ago, mysterious coffee trees were discovered on the Rodriguez Family farms. The origin was unknown, but these naturally mutating trees had some resemblances of their neighboring trees, Bourbon and Typica. The former variety lends the floral, tea-like complexities present in the coffee and the latter responsible for the deep, juicy sweetness. Though it remains a mystery how this unique variety came to grow in Apaneca, the fruit from these trees is twice as dense, much larger, and contains up to five times more juice than its neighboring varieties.
Hailing from the Roriguez family, the same producers of El Porvenir and Pacamara La Gloria, this coffee is laced with lavender floral, deep dark fruit juiciness, and cocoa, with spice complexity on the finish. Elefante is a rare opportunity to enjoy coffee from the old vines that brought us this new and exciting flavor over the years
