In the aftermath of Hurricane Ida many remain displaced, including friends and colleagues in the coffee industry across the New Orleans area. Hurricane damage and city-wide evacuation orders mean industry members have been unable to work for over a week with no clear timeline of when their next paycheck will come.
We’ve teamed up with our longtime friends, wholesale partner, and New Orleans-based cafe, Mammoth Espresso, to help out. Together, we’re releasing a Mammoth-label coffee with all profits going to Go Fund Bean’s Hurricane Ida Wage Relief for displaced hourly coffee workers across Louisiana.
This fundraiser’s goal is to give $500 to every worker who needs it. This will help industry workers cover lost wages and provide some money to help with food, gas, and other travel expenses incurred by evacuating.
Buy a bag of Mammoth (a washed Rwandan single origin), and together we can support these coffee workers who keep the industry running.
