Santa Teresa hails from Santa Maria de Dota in the famous region of Tarrazu roughly a 3-hour car ride south from Santa Lucia. The terrain is drier in this area and the soil takes on an orangish tint. Santa Teresa rests at 2050 meters and is surrounded by coffee and protected forest. Although Roger Urena has been producing coffee his whole life, it was only 3 years ago he build his own micro-mill and began processing his own coffee.
For the past 3 seasons, we’ve had the chance to taste his coffee and have been continually impressed. From day one he’s been focused on exploring various varieties and processing techniques to produce the highest degree of quality in his coffee.
