AN EXCEPTIONAL CUP BORN FROM HUSBAND AND WIFE COLLABORATION
We first met Luis Reinoso in 2010 and have been buying his coffee ever since. Luis produces coffee in a collaborative effort with his wife, Yenni, whose name you may recognize from a previous label from the Reinoso farm. The Reinosos had the first coffee Madcap ever purchased from Colombia.
Luis and Yenni operate on a small, secluded eleven-hectare farm on the outskirts of Herrera, Tolima. There you’ll find Luis diligently keeping records while processing small batches, and Yenni raking the drying coffee on top of the roof of their farmhouse. Though this coffee bears his name, Luis is the first to emphasize that it’s an equal partnership between Yenni and himself. In recent years, their daughter Mirtly has also been helping the family process the coffee. In this balanced cup, expect notes of hibiscus, pomegranate, and lime zest
