WELCOME IN A FRESH SEASON WITH NEW MOON
When creating seasonal blends like New Moon, we aim to capture the feelings and flavors reminiscent of that particular season. In Michigan, spring is an almost magical time: sunshine returns, frozen beaches begin to thaw, windows are propped open. The blend should highlight the strength of its components, as well as present a totally new tasting experience that reminds us of this fresh new season.
Two familiar coffees, Ejo Heza from Rwanda, and Miguel Ortiz from Honduras were chosen for this crisp and balanced seasonal blend. Ejo Heza, a coffee produced by the women’s group of the Kopakama Cooperative, delivers tea-like florals and a delicate body. Miguel Ortiz’s Parainema variety ushers in fruit-forward sweetness and adds depth to the final body of the blend. In the final blend, we’re enjoying notes of lemon zest, lilac, and sweet cherry.
